Crochet and Cake is a group that meets in Hitchin every Tuesday afternoon.  It is an informal opportunity to share crochet skills and get inspired over a cup of tea and piece of cake.  If you would like to learn to crochet, I would be happy to show you the basics or work out a pattern together!

We meet in Molly's Tea Room, Bancroft, Hitchin - Tuesdays 1 - 3pm (term time only).

A great start to 2017

Starting the new year off by exhibiting at the Waltham Abbey Wool Show on January 15th Woolly Chic met lots of lovely people and gained some great feedback on our new Hexie Handbag kit!

I had a fantastic time at the wonderful MK Handmade & Vintage fair on 5th and 6th November selling our British wool, knitting and crochet kits and some handmade woolly creations!

Lovely to see everyone who stopped by to say hello, I am always happy to talk about wool, knitting and crochet!

Yarnbombing news!

The trees in St. Mary's Churchyard  were once again adorned with wool as part of the Hitchin Festival.

Taking place during the month of July, therewas lots to surprise and delight people - as we put on a tree-mendous fashion show!

Thanks to Hitchin TV for making this short video about our Yarn Bomb Art Installation
Awards Banner

Woolly Chic reached the finals of the Muddy Stilettos Awards!

Thank you to everyone who voted.  It was brilliant to get such fantastic support and Woolly Chic came a very close second in the best Local Producer (non-food) category.

Making our Faces Funny for Money

Thank you to everyone who attended our Crafternoon and bought a woolly beard pattern raising over £200 for Comic Relief.
The Woolly Beard and Red Nose Pattern is still available from Woolly Chic if you ever have need of a disguise!

Woolly Chic was proud to have been selected to exhibit at Kirstie Allsopp's first Handmade Fair!

We joined Kirstie in her campaign to Get Britain Crafting at what proved to be a wonderful and inspiring event packed full with lots of talented craftspeople and lovely visitors who all seemed to enjoy getting stuck in to learning some new crafts.

Lovely to meet so many fantastic people at Fibre East - and the sun shone all weekend!

The highlight of the weekend for me though, was when a customer stopped by with a beautiful cardigan she had made with Woolly Chic wool.  She also let me put it on display on my stall!

Woolly Chic wool and sheep on display at Wonderwool Wales - 27th & 28th April 2013

Woolly Chic on show at the unravel festival in Farnham
 - 23rd & 24th February 2013

It was fantastic to take part in the unravel wool festival.  Huge thanks to the organisers and I hope to do it again next year!

Crochet Pattern Corrections

We make every effort to ensure that our patterns are correct, but occasionally something does slip through! A mistake has been picked up in the Sheep Tea Cosy Pattern.

Please take note if you have bought a kit before 14 December 2012

For the tea cosy sides, the pattern should not say repeat row 6 as it would suggest continuing to increase. The pattern should say:

Row 7             1 ch, 1 loop st in each st to the end (30 sts)

Row 8             1 ch, 1 dc st in each st to the end (30 sts)

Rows 9 - 13   repeat rows 7 and 8
